When I ran a Kumon centre I would often enrol teens who had weak mental maths skills, which were causing them to struggle with maths. Fixing this problem enough to give them the confidence and skills to improve their maths took around 6 months, but if the goal is to only to sort out their times tables, then this can be done in much less time.
